Breaking down the silos between film, television, games and publishing.
Alisha Hasan founded Helsinki Film Lab to work at the intersection of film, television, games, animation and publishing — with a career spanning Gutsy Animations, Discovery, Yellow Film & TV, Red Bee Media, Kino Lorber and the games sector.
Her work is driven by how stories travel across formats, how audiences form around intellectual property, and how stronger relationships between creative industries lead to more ambitious, sustainable storytelling.
“We came away with a much better understanding of what to look for when assessing IP for transmedia, while also making valuable new industry connections.”
“It was a really inspiring experience. Working with the game teams went well, everyone had a good time, and one of our team members came away saying, ‘I’ve found my people.’”
“I’ll definitely be using the tools from the course in my own work. It was valuable to shift my perspective from traditional screenwriting towards thinking about multiple agencies, world holders and a much broader storyworld.”
